The rules for learning with LingoSlam.

Agreement and eligibility

These terms apply when you use the LingoSlam website, browser extension, phone controller, courses, rooms, decks, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be legally able to enter this agreement. If local law requires permission from a parent or guardian, you may use the Service only with that permission and their supervision.

Your account

You are responsible for activity under your account, keeping access to it secure, and providing information that does not impersonate or mislead others. Tell us through the LingoSlam support page if you believe your account or extension connection has been compromised.

Streaming services and content

LingoSlam is an independent learning tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Netflix, YouTube, or their owners. LingoSlam does not provide your streaming subscription or host the video you watch. You remain responsible for lawful access to third-party services and for following their terms.

You may use subtitles, text, and other material with LingoSlam only when you have the right to access and use them for this purpose. Do not use the Service to copy, publish, sell, or redistribute third-party content. Supported sites can change their players or access rules, so an integration may become limited or temporarily unavailable.

AI-generated learning material

Courses, translations, explanations, pronunciation models, questions, scores, and recommendations may be generated or evaluated by automated systems. They can be incomplete or wrong and are provided for general language practice, not as professional, academic, legal, medical, or financial advice. Check important information against a reliable source.

Your content and rooms

You keep ownership of content you submit, such as room posts, Dub It recordings you explicitly share, and Dub Roulette performances you submit to a room. You give LingoSlam a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, display, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for temporary backups and legal or security requirements.

Do not post or transmit content that is unlawful, abusive, deceptive, invasive of privacy, infringing, malicious, or intended to disrupt the Service. Room invitations should be shared only with people you intend to invite. We may remove content or restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect users, third parties, or the Service.

Acceptable use

You may not:

• break the law or violate another person's rights;
• bypass security, access controls, rate limits, or account restrictions;
• introduce malware, interfere with the Service, or probe it without permission;
• automate access in a way that overloads, scrapes, or resells the Service;
• reverse engineer protected parts of the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
• use the Service or its output to misrepresent authorship, identity, grades, or qualifications.

LingoSlam software and ownership

LingoSlam and its software, branding, interface, and original course systems are protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these terms, you receive a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for language learning. No ownership rights are transferred to you. Open-source components remain governed by their own licenses.

Paid features

LingoSlam paid plans are offered as automatically renewing monthly subscriptions at the price and currency shown before purchase. PayPal processes the payment. You authorize PayPal to charge the selected payment method each billing period until you cancel. Taxes may apply.

You can cancel renewal from the LingoSlam pricing page. Unless the checkout or applicable law says otherwise, cancellation stops future charges and paid access continues through the paid billing period; charges already made are not automatically refunded. Mandatory consumer cancellation and refund rights are not limited by these terms.

Plan allowances are described on the pricing page. A course unlock opens one episode, study language, and fluency level, whether its AI material is already prepared or generated for you. Replaying the same unlocked course does not use another unlock. Longer titles may use another unlock for each additional hour of course material. A failed course generation returns the unlock reserved for that attempt.

Availability and changes

The Service is under active development. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features and may set reasonable usage limits. We will try to give appropriate notice when a material change affects a paid feature or your stored data, but urgent security, legal, or third-party platform changes may require immediate action.

You may stop using LingoSlam at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a material or repeated breach of these terms, a security risk, harm to others, or a legal requirement. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to correct the issue.

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without promises that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every video, device, subtitle track, or third-party service. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, LingoSlam is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, loss of data, lost profits, or losses caused by third-party services. These limits do not apply where liability cannot legally be limited, including any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.

Changes and disputes

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the Service, law, or security practices. The updated date will appear above, and material changes will receive reasonable notice when practical. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

Applicable law governs these terms and any dispute, while preserving any non-waivable rights and local forum protections you have as a consumer. Please contact us through the LingoSlam support page first so we can try to resolve a concern.
